I'm off to the fabulous Fox Theater in Atlanta for a little culture tonight to see 42nd Street! I'm super excited. Then tomorrow night will be the American Idol concert!! What a fun weekend :)

Wishful thinking...

So we've all seen candy bars. They are all the rage right now. Well I saw some of these great containers at TJ Maxx and they were so cheap! I think I may have to have some. They will look good with stuff inside just around the house right? And then of course I can use them for my parties :)

Candle light

Candle light is always a great touch, but these candles hanging over a table--BEAUTIFUL! I wonder how the wax doesn't drip out??

DIY Napkin Ring

So for anyone that knows me you will know that I love to change out my dining room table with different plates, centerpieces, napkins, etc. Well I have discovered something dangerous for me. I have learned how to make my own napkin rings. Here are the supplies you will need: fabric (mine is left over from a Land of the Lost party), toilet paper or paper towel rolls, scissors, exato knife, glue dots or glue gun, and a ruler. Cut the paper towel or toilet paper rolls in to equal sizes.

Then you want to cut your fabric so that it is twice the width of the roll...and of course long enough to wrap around.
Then using your trusty glue dots or glue gun, glue the fabric down to the inside of the roll. I added some ribbon to hide the fabric seam on the outside and to give it a more finished look.

And there you have it!! A wonderful napkin ring! It took me about an hour to do all four, I can see it going faster though now that I know what I'm doing. Oh the things I plan to do with this knowledge.

TGIF

I have had a very hectic and FUN week. I went to birthday parties, cookouts, movies, and worked about 50 hours. I'm so glad it's Friday and I can do a little relaxing to gear up for another super packed fun week next week when there will be more birthdays, Broadway musicals, and concerts! So only a little time to sleep... and if my bed looked like this I may not even want to mess it up.

Purple...it's the new black

I know I'm a little biased because this happens to be my favorite color, but how could you not want to use every single one of these things?! I especially love the chandelier in the top right hand corner.

Salad shaker

This is such a great way to have a salad bar. The colors look so bright on all the produce you hardly need the flowers. And using the different sized square containers adds so much to what could be just another salad bar.

Hogwart's Special

I'm finally going to see the new Harry Potter movie tonight. And in honor of this great day, check this out, it's Butter Beer! How perfect would this be for a Harry Potter marathon at your house? Check out how to make this wonderful concoction here: http://heatherbailey.typepad.com/heather_bailey/2009/07/butterbeer_recipe.html

Cool Spell

In honor of the beautiful cool weather we've been having I would like to share these little guys. It's actually two olives, cream cheese and carrots. I have been obsessed with penguins since I first saw "Happy Feet". These would be so cute for a holiday or winter party or even a kids birthday.

Manic Monday

So I feel this picture is fitting for today. First of all I got some awesome new blue sheets for my bed this weekend to go along with my black and white duvet cover. Also in true Monday fashion, I forgot to set my alarm and woke up 10 minutes before I was supposed to be at work :) Just couldn't get out of my bed! P.S.--I love that fuzzy ottoman!

Sunday Special

The weather is so great right now here in Athens, but wouldn't it be so nice to look out on to the ocean from this porch? Maybe I can go to the beach one last time before the summer is over.

Spa-tastic

This spa is so AWESOME! I love that the furniture is in the water and looks like it belongs in your living room. That chandelier may be the biggest thing I've ever seen, so pretty!

Happy Friday!

I absolutely love this room. One reason is I of course love purple of any shade, another is that it matches my outfit today, and finally I love that there is so much color in white room. These pictures on the wall are a perfect way to add color to such a plain painted room (which my rooms are normally all white having to live in apartments)

Flower Power

I love these flowers! I think that the birch vase is so fun and rustic, peonies are always gorgeous and romantic, and who wouldn't love the fun bursts of flowers on the last one?! If I had more money I think that I would always have fresh flowers in my house. And I'm thankful my cat doesn't seem to eat fresh flowers....just my fake ones :)

Are we heading North?

Moss makes a great addition to these centerpieces. I recently showed a client a centerpiece that was all green (which I love!) and she replied to me that it had no color. Now I beg to differ because last time I checked, green IS a color. This is a great example how centerpieces look amazing with practically noting but green.

You light up my life

This lamp would be so perfect for an office or even a kid's desk. This lamp also makes me wonder what other surfaces you could cover in cork board? Refrigerator maybe? Desk drawers? The possibilities are endless!

The Monday Blues

This beautiful room may help my case of the Monday's today!

Just a Georgia Peach

Look at these awesome cakes! And yes it is actually a cake not a real peach! See how to do this yourself here: http://www.bigredkitchen.com/2009/07/little-peach-cakes.html

Green with Envy

All of these wonderful rooms are so relaxing. Which relaxing is high on my list of things to do after the very busy week I've had. So enjoy and have a great weekend!

Fun Friends

My best friend Jennifer and I have a long background of planning parties together. Margarita Thursdays, Selena Margarita Night, wedding showers, and the list goes on and on. So it didn't surprise me when Jennifer made these amazing items for a Fourth of July party she went to. LOVE the martini, and LOVE that my cupcake stand can be used for anything! Best present EVER! Be on the lookout for more Jennifer originals because I'm sure there will be some with all of her creativity.

What if?

This is the color scheme I had in mind for my brother's wedding. His wedding was on the beach in Maui. It didn't turn out quite like this but I still would love to use this one day! Perfect for a beach wedding!

You can go to http://www.thecrispery.com/ and get all kinds of delicious gormet rice crispy treats. Or get some good ideas to make your own more adult looking treats :)

Summer Lovin'

These might be the cutest ice cream sandwiches I've ever seen! Now I just need to have an excuse to make them.

How bout them dogs?

This is such a great way to dress up your pigs in a blanket, which in my opinion can be a little redneck for a fancy event. Not to say I don't LOVE them and eat them up! These little guys are perfect for a tailgate, or picnic. But just this little addition and it really changes the whole concept!

Picnic Overload

I had a wonderful time in Ohio and the weather was PERFECT! I also ate way too much at the 5 picnics I went to. So in honor of my overdose here is the cutest 4th of July picnic
